Fulfills- MLO 3: LITERARY AND CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE
Reflective Narrative: In this course I was to be introduced to chicanx and latinx experiences to see how they have shaped the chicanx and latinx communities and identities. In order to fulfill MLO 3, I had completed research and readings that related to chicanx culture and the impact that it had on the community. Through this course I was able to learn some features that help define what it means to be chicanx and to have that identity, along with the history that stands behind it. Something I wish to further develop from what I have learned in this course is to to continue with learning about chicanx culture, in regards to present times and see what has shaped that. This course relates to a course I took my freshman year, which focused on the impact that chicanx literature, specifically chicana literature, had on the chicano movement and the way it helped shape it. After completing this course I intend to take what I have learned and further build on it, I intend to do more research to help me understand the chicano movement. Attached below is the first quiz for the class, it was to explain what I had learned so far from the class and my experience with learning chicanx culture.
